Nocturna

Quite possibly the longest-running goth night anywhere (Nocturna celebrates its 21st year in 2009!) The big crowd takes more than just a passing interest in the music & loves to dance. Expect to hear a mix of goth, dark indie, industrial, deathrock, post-punk, ebm, darkwave, new wave, & ethereal, old & new (but the DJ personally prefers the newer stuff!) Friendly people in general, with a DJ who is happy to take requests & give information regarding new music. Release parties with giveaways for new cds at each Nocturna event.

To sum up: Nocturna is an 18+ dark alternative dance night held one Saturday every other month in Chicago. DJ Scary Lady Sarah flies in from Berlin, Germany specifically for Nocturna and spins a highly request-driven mix of current & classic goth, industrial, post-punk, deathrock, ethereal, shoegaze, deathrock, new wave, ebm, darkwave, dark indie & more. It's a lot of fun & you should go!  ;)
