The London Ghost Festival is annually held during the run up to Halloween. Running over 8 consecutive days, the programmes offers an assortment of ghostly themed events, walks, tours, and talks all centred on the capitals walking dead, spectral myths and horrid histories. Launched in 2008, the festival has grown from strength to strength attracting Londoners, national and international tourists alike, making it one of London’s most new and intriguing festivals. 2010 DEAD AGAIN: A myriad of deathly events have been conjured up throughout the week preceding All Hallows Eve. Once again, the festival is launched at the notorious London Dungeon with a Victorian Ghost hunt on 22nd Oct. On 24th the official Festival fancy dress party held in conjunction with the Eerie Pubs Company, raises the dead with a Punks Dead theme. On 23rd, a charity paranormal investigation (in aid of refurbishment of Clerks Well heritage site) is held at The Old Sessions House (a former 17th haunted courthouse) The week twists and turns with a variety of haunted walks throughout central London (Smithfield’s, Bankside and Spitalfields) and a series of free lunchtime talks at City of London Libraries which examine The Dissection of Ghosts and Haunting, by  varied and noted experts in the field. Spirits of Whisky combines traditional whisky tasting with tales of Scottish ghosts and beasties.  Halloween weekend will, echo with screams from Tom Spindler’s horror installation: The 13th Seance as he promises to assault the public, recall the terrifying spectres at Chiselhurst Caves and   ‘House of Lost Souls’ unleashes the dead in Charlton House in Greenwich. More events will be confirmed as the days become shorter.  The festival will run from Friday 22rd October to Sunday 31st October at various locations in and around the capital.
