I've been keeping an eye on flight prices from the U.S.A.
I expect they'll start getting good in about 2-3 weeks.
When I look 2 weeks before Treffen on Lufthansa's website I'm seeing NYC-LEJ from $560, about a week before $747 (funny price). Usually that window moves, so in about a week the $747 prices will be 'over' the Treffen dates, and an in about 2-3 weeks the $560 prices will be there.
Can't swear it will happen but this year flight prices are looking pretty good. Will keep you updated.

Hi everyone,
I just booked a direct flight to Berlin on Continental for $421. Yep, you read that right. I'm leaving on the 22nd, a few days before WGT, but if you play around with the dates, you might be able to get the same deal.
I booked it on Expedia. Same offer was on Continental's site, I'm just used to booking with Expedia.
Trains to Leipzig are around $78 US and take about an hour.
